Sourdough Starter Recipe

This has to be the easiest starter recipe ever! Needed something that I could continue feeding or start over if needed. Something that fit into my daily life schedule. If something takes too long to make I won't make it. Literally takes a few minutes to get this going and to feed.

I have 2 jars that I am currently feeding. Next month I just may keep it to one jar. Follow the directions and you will have excellent starter dough. Enjoy

Starter Recipe:

1/2 flour. whole wheat or unbleached all-purpose. (I use organic wheat flour)

1/4 cup water around 75 degrees

1 glass quart canning har or glass bowl

A day before you begin this recipe, pour your water in a glass container and set out overnight. This helps any chlorine in the water to dissapate. The next day add everything into your glass container and stir well with a wooden spoon. Do not use a metal or plastic spoon. Use a lid and band after each feeding.

Feed this the same exact way for 5-6 days before using. If you want to keep some in the refrigerator, at the end of these feeding days make something with the starter then place the rest in the fridge. When you are ready to pull the starter out to feed, let it sit a whole 24 hours before feeding and using. Feed once a week to keep it going with the amounts listed above.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!
